On Monday my precious David turned 8 years old ! Time passes by so very quickly! Because I am lame, I forgot to take photos of his food ! :( He got to choose his favorites, as the kids always do on their birthdays! So we had corn dogs, french fries, and 2 different kinds of perogies! Perogies in our family are lovingly called frogadillies! When David was about 5, it was just Andy and the kids and I for dinner! Andy asked David what he wanted to eat and he said frogadillies! It took some clever questioning by Andy, but alas he discovered that David actually wanted perogies!
Let's get started!
Here is our toothless and very happy 8 year old birthday boy, wearing the most awesome party hat ever! Most of you know it is a family tradition! We forgot to put it on Gary a few weeks ago when he had his birthday, but we usually do remember it!
Time for the prezzies...
David with all his gifts! What a loot! (((:
Our happy boy with is much wanted Flashlight Friend! He wanted the blue doggy and he got it from his parents! If you remember, Gary got one on his birthday too! It is a plushie/stuffed animal that has a flashlight in it's belly! The children can take it to bed with them and turn on the light so that they don't get scared of the dark! After 10 minutes the kids are typicallly asleep and the light goes out on it's own! It's a very clever answer for kids being scared of the dark! Now all 3 boys have one! I am hoping that their little Flashlight Friends will help a lot with the whole "monster in the closet" fear that they have been dealing with!
Star Wars Legos from his mom and dad! You can see by that smile how much he likes them!
A special 3d Monkey card from Grace!
A Darth Vader ball from his brothers!
A new Nerf gun! Grace bought this for him in California! She told us that TSA was not happy about letting it on the plane home! Grace eventually won out!
His favorite gift of the night is from his mom and dad! It is a Darth Vader mask that speaks to you and for you! It is even voiced by James Earl Jones himself! Then when you speak with it on, it makes your words come out breathy like Dark Vader! It also came with a light saber! Very cool ! (:
The big red bag was from Trev, Jordan, Kay and I! I got him these dinosaurs that morph into aliens (I think)! He had been wanting some since his original ones got broken! I also always give the kids candy in their birthday presents! At his parent's request, I didn't get him what I usually get for them! I got only 3 packages of candy!
First try at speaking through the Vader mask! It really is an amazing toy!
Here is Papa Gary enjoying the festivities!
Grandpa Dave is looking on with a strange look on his face! He usually sticks his tongue out at me when I snap a shot of him, but this time he didn't know I was doing it! (: Gotcha Dad! Grandma Evie and Jim were not there because they are very sick with the flu!
Kay is just chillin out waiting for the noms! That is her giant Mountain Dew can beside her!
Time for the cake...
Kay and James are ready to dive into the yummy cake!
Could David possibly have a birthday cake that didn't have a Star Wars theme? Of course not!
Time to sing Happy Birthday to a very happy boy! Gary just LOVES the singing of Happy Birthday! Once again, his face had to be shielded because he just couldn't stop himself from trying to blow out the candles early for David!
A wish was made and the candles were blown out by the right Keiser boy! Gary didn't get to them first even though he really tried! David said this was the best day of his life!
SO THERE YOU HAVE IT! DAVID IS OFFICIALLY EIGHT YEARS OLD
HAPPY BIRTHDAY PRECIOUS BOY!!!
I hope you enjoyed another chapter in the life of the Keiser Family! By now, you all know how we celebrate our birthdays! I would LOVE to hear from you all, how do you celebrate birthdays in your family?
HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND EVERYONE!!!
