There was no guess work in what I would be thankful for during this assignment! You all know that yesterday was our Thanksgiving here in the US! Our family had a wonderful time and wonderful food! My photos didn't come out well! I just didn't get the lighting right! Still I will share a few of them with you! Please don't judge! (:
We will start with the guys in the kitchen preparing our wonderful food! Sadly the one I took of Andy (our head chef) is really blurry, so I give you his assistant, Trevor! You can really see in this shot that he has now lost 60 pounds! I am so proud of him! It is really nice to have him home after 7 weeks at college!
Kay waited for dinner by drawing on her tablet! I did get a smile out of her though! (:
Here is Grandpa Gary chatting with Aunt Carrie! Hey, they rhyme!
My dad is such a character! He stayed outside for several hours watching the deep frier with the turkeys in it! It was only 19 degrees, so Trevor went out and dad came in to warm up! He is always doing something silly like sticking his toungue out at me! I love you Dad! (:
Our first course, delicious potato soup and corn fritters!
Baby Gary was being super silly with his "passys" both in his mouth! I had to use a flash!
This would be most of our foods! I somehow missed the corn fritters! They were so good too! I didn't get the turkeys before they were carved! They were really good and not at all dry! My mom made her famous pumpkin pie! It looks like just regular old pumpkin pie, but it isn't! It is more! My mom starts with an actual whole pumpkin and has secret spices that make it to die for! We put whipped cream on the top! Once again, I caught her with a funny look on her face! She is going to kill me one of these days for posting them! The pie and the sweet potatoes were my favorites! My photos don't do any of it justice! Oh, and the cranberry sauce was a new recipe! It was made with bourbon and whole cranberries! After it was baked and chilled overnight, the cranberries were almost candied! It was all so good!
We took time to appreciate Jordan and Elaine's brother Paul who couldn't join us because they are away serving our country! My dad said a very nice prayer of thanks!
With that I will post my last photo! Elaine made a pretty Thanksgiving wreath covered in colored leaves where each of us wrote what we are thankful for!
We all really appreciated our family! We are a goofy bunch, but we love each other with all of our hearts! We always have each other's back! No one ever cries alone!
Tomorrow is Baby Gary's birthday! He is turning 2 already! So, there will be another photo blog soon!
HAVE A WONDERFUL WEEKEND BUZZNET!
