Yep, you guessed it! It's birthday blog time! Today was my little brother's 43rd birthday! We had the family party on Saturday night up at the camp which was lots of fun! I thought that I would share our celebration shenanigans with you!
I wanted to get some candid shots as everyone was sitting around and talking! Well, my dad caught me in action and stuck out his tongue for my photo! He is such a character! ( :
I tried to get a shot of my mom and Jim sitting at the picnic table, but I got caught again! So they posed! Jim was smiling in the first one and my mom was looking to the side while talking! I thought I should probably go with the good shot of her since she is my mom afterall !
Gary tried to take a ride on the 4-wheeler! No worries, even though it looks real it is a toy and goes very slow when it runs at all! Gary was the only one who actually got it to move! It has been ridden a lot in it's life and it is near it's end I fear! I have a photo of James exactly like this 3 years ago!
David and James were playing "swords" with a lawn game!
I am not sure what Grace was actually doing, but I can tell you that she was stylin and rockin' those sunnies!
Here is our birthday boy with his favorite ice cream cake from Dairy Queen! We try to make sure he gets one every year!
Singing Happy Birthday Dear Andy!
Make a wish Andy and blow out the candles! We couldn't put 43 candles on the cake because it would melt! LOL So there are 4 on one side and 3 on the other! Elaine is just clever like that there! (:
Here is a shot of our campfire that we enjoyed until after midnight! We even had to go and buy more wood when we picked Kay up from work! It was a blast!
Now for today, his actual birthday:
Grace and David had to skate first thing this morning in Gaylord, which is a town about an hour south of here! They keep ice on their rink year around, so the kids have to go there to get any ice time! At first Andy asked me if I could babysit earlier since both he and Elaine had to leave so early! Somehow we decided that instead, I and the little boys would tag along! Actually, I do know how! Andy promised me waffles! There is a really nice park next to the ice rink, so we took James and Gary out there first thing before it got too hot to play outside!
Here is James on the purple dinosaur!
I love how they are laughing about something!
Baby Gary on the little dino!
That concludes our time in the park! Next we moved in to cool off and watch Grace and David skate their routines that they will be doing at competition this weekend! We went from 90 degrees and humid to 45 degrees in a matter of minutes! It was refreshing!
Here is Grace mid routine! I can't believe she is that tall already! She did a great job! Here's to a gold medal this weekend! ( :
Here is David practicing his Frank Sinatra routine with a really great hat! I should say that these two shots look weird because they are taken through plexiglass!
When they were done we moved on to Bob Evans to have some of those waffles mentioned earlier! ( : He was reading the menu and has no idea that I took this!
The kids were coloring the placemats!
Grace made her daddy a plate of yummy cupcakes to be enjoyed later! They look so yummy!
Daddy started to enjoy his Scotch on the rocks! That is a gift from Elaine's older brother who we all know as "Uncle Steve"! Do you find the humour hidden in this shot?
YAY MOMMY IS HOME from work! Hugs and kisses all around!
Aunt Lory, Kay and the kiddos all got to nom on some really yummy pizza from the Pellston General Store! SO good!!!
Right now it is time to put the little boys to bed for the night! Andy and Elaine are enjoying a nice dinner out, just the two of them! That is his birthday present from me! ( :
I couldn't be more proud of my little brother! He is truly an AMAZING husband, father, son, and especially brother! Since the moment my dad called me at my grandma's to tell me that he had been born, my life has been blessed by him being in it!
I love you Andy and I hope you have had a wonderful birthday!
