BUZZNET STORY TELLER'S ASSIGNMENT #5...HOLIDAYS

My holidays have changed in the past few years, but they still have been a bunch of fun!  As everyone knows we have a new baby in our family, and that my son got to come home from the Marine Corps!  Both of these events made our Christmas extra special this year! 

We start out on Christmas Eve by sleeping really super late!  When we get up we just hang out around the house!  We take turns wrapping each other's presents!  Nothing like waiting until the last minute!  But by wrapping them on Christmas Eve you can feel the excitement, and how much everyone will like what they got!

Next is dinner!  We have a new tradition of Macaroni and Cheese with hotdogs!  Trevor is our cook these days, so he made it!  It was SO good !!!  Then it is time to watch It's A Wonderful LIfe and go on our computers to send Christmas messages to our online family and friends!  I got the French Toast Casserole all ready for morning and in the refrigerator!  Somewhere around midnight were off to bed !  No one really got much sleep since there was so much excitement in the air!

We woke up at about 9am and headed for the living room!  Jordan likes to "play Santa" so he passes out all of the gifts!  This year we had a Dollar Tree Christmas so there were lots of gifts to pass around!  Once the Christmas tree is empty, we start and go around the room with each of us opening one present at a time!  Breakfast is in the oven and smelling very good !  It took us about an  hour to open all of our gifts, taking lots of photos as we go!  We laughed SO much!  I think that the dollar store Christmas might become a tradition!  The French Toast Casserole certainly will be!

After presents and breakfast are over, we play with our new things! (:  I had only gotten a few hours sleep because I am an insomniac, so I took about an hours nap!  Then at 2pm we headed over to my brother's house for snacks and eventually dinner! 

There you have it, our holiday!  Jordan plans to be home for Christmas next year too!  However, there is a really good chance he will be deployed at that time!  We will just have to see how 2012 plays out!
