I'm Out

I'm so sorry that I have gotten so far behind on everyone's posts!  My children have the h1n1 and I just don't have much time to be on this week!  They are getting better with antivirals for the flu and antibiotics for the secondary pneumonia.  Keep your fingers crossed that they continue to get better and that I don't get it too!  I don't have time to be sick!  Thanks for understanding!  Lory

Thank You To All My Friends

I just wanted to take a minute and thank everyone for all the support you have given me over the past difficult months!  The divorce process  moves along slowly!  The kids and I are adjusting slowly!  Buzznet has been a huge reason why I have been able to cope!  Each night I retire to my room, get on my computer, and get on Buzznet!

I so enjoy reading everyone's comments, and doing my share of commenting on  your posts!  I have to thank Mark for being the best Admin ever!  He takes such good care of us all!  So to all my buzznet friends...with much love I THANK YOU!!!

It's The Circle Of Life!

On August 12, 2008 my very healthy 82 year old grandma had a massive stroke and passed away 2 days later!  I was very close to my grandma!  I was more close to her than my own parents!  Her loss was devastating!!  However, with death also comes life!  We found out that very week that my brother and his wife are expecting their 3rd child!

As if that wasn't incredible enough, the baby is due on my grandmas birthday!!!  That would be March 19, 2009!  We are within days of meeting out precious baby!  We are all hoping for a girl to be born on that day!!  If it is indeed a girl, she will of course be named after grandma!

This is even a little extra special for me (if that is possible)!  I am the labor coach!  My brother doesn't do well with his wife being in pain, her blood being drawn, IV's started, etc!  So I get the great honor!  I will cut the cord, give the baby it's bath, take lots of pictures, and just love on that new little punkin!

It's very sad that grandma will miss this, but it is the circle of life!!!

A LONG AND SNOWY NIGHT!!

Do you remember me writing in December about my boys putting their cars into snow banks???  Well the saga continues!  Craig and Jordan are downstate at the regional bowling meet this weekend!  That leaves Trev, Kay and I on our own!  No problem right?  Trev is a big strong young dude!

Last night we got probably the worst storm of the season, and it was trecherous to say the least!  We got over a foot of snow in about 8 hours along with wind chills, blowing, and drifting!  Trev closed at McDonalds last night and headed home even though I advised him to go to his grandma's house in town!  The State Police were advising that travel be limited to emergency vehicles only!  He didn't listen! He did have a plan! ;(

His friends and fellow closers with a 4 wheel drive followed him home to make sure he got here!  Not a bad plan, right?  Well he did make it home but he couldn't see the driveway and turned directly into the ditch!  The three of them tried with no success to dig and/or push the car out!  I couldn't leave the car half in the road because there is the rare occasion that the snow plow does actually go down our road and might smash it into tiny pieces!  So what is left to do?  I certainly couldn't get it out!!!  I called a tow truck!

Trevor went back out to wait!  Before too long at all I saw the flashing lights of the tow truck through my window!  But as quick as it came it disappeared! Hmmm!!  So I waited about 15 minutes because after all they could have turned the lights off!  Trevor didn't come in, and didn't come in, and didn't come in...  So I put on my coat and went out into the entry way to see what was up!  I expected to at least hear engines running, but only the wind was making a sound!  I yelled out to Trev to see where he was and what was going on!

He heard me yell and came up to the door to fill me in!  The tow truck had come in the wrong direction and needed to go down to the corner and turn around!  On the way back...the tow truck went into a drift and then the ditch!  We figured they would get themselves out and be right back to get our car out!  That is what they do afterall!  Trev went back out to wait! Time went on, and went on, and went on!  So once again I put on my coat, went out the door, and yelled to Trev!  He came back to fill me in!  A second tow truck had come to get the first one out, and guess what???  It went in the ditch!!!  Not even kidding!! Now I had a car and 2 tow trucks stuck in the stinkin snow!!!  I can't even imagine what my neighbors must have been thinking!

Finally at 4:15am Trevor came in for good!  A tractor type vehicle that we couldn't identify by name came and pulled all 3 of them out!  They were stuck SO bad that the tractor had to use chains wrapped around trees to winch(?) them out!  After 3 long exhausting hours, how would I ever pay this bill???  Thankfully and fortunately, they only charged me for the one car that MY son originally put in the ditch!  $85.00 thank you very much!   Oh, and up until the time of this writing the all feared snow plow has still not graced us with it's presnce!! :)))  We are very literally snowed in!

NO MORE SURGERY FOR AT LEAST 2 MONTHS

I had an appointment yesterday with a new specialist at a bigger hospital that is located in a town about 35 miles from here!  I felt like things went pretty well!  She had the results of all my labs, reports, biopsies, everything!  I don't mean to be too graphic, but I have to be somewhat graphic to explain my situation!  The mass on my remaining ovary is a cyst not an endometrioma!  To improve the debilitating pain, and hopefully avoid it bursting I have to go on bcp's to "quiet" my ovary down!  They should shrink the cyst as well as prevent any function from that ovary!  I can monitor the pain, seeing if it presents at all while my ovary is quiet!  At the end of the 2 months I see the doctor again and we will make the decision!  The other problem I was unaware of is that the ARD from Endometriosis and multiple surgeries have both encapsulated and moved the ovary more to the center of my abdomen!  If it turns out to be that is what is causing my pain and limitations, then it will have to be come out!  On me that would require a really big surgery!  There would be no possibility that it could be removed with a scope!  Things are too messed up in there!  I would have a full incision, four days in the hospital, and at least six weeks to recover!  So there you have it!

I also wanted to say a great big THANK YOU to everyone who was supporting me through this!!  I could seriously feel it!  I firmly believe that is why last weeks surgery went so incredibly well!  That was the best procedure I've ever had done!!  It was just perfect!  I am so blessed to have buzznet and so many AMAZING friends here!  You dudes are the bestest!!!

AVENGED SEVENFOLD'S VIDEO

I just saw the video for a7x's Dear God, and tears rolled down my cheeks!  It really touched my heart and reminded me that all these guys and girls that we love and look up to are still just people!  They are human beings with the same heart in them as in those of us who adore them!!  I don't mean that they don't reep the benefits!  They do!  They miss the warmth of home and especially family while they are out putting on shows for us night after night!  If you haven't seen the video I highly recommend you do!  Just my humble opinion!

It's Surgery Time Again!

I know it's wierd that I count my surgeries but I do!  Early tomorrow morning I will be having number 37!  I'm not excited!  You would think it would get easier, but for me it doesn't!  It is feeling anything but easy right now!  Maybe you will think I am a wimp!

I go in at 7:30am!  At least I don't have to wait around half the day chewing my nails waiting for the inevitable!  We kinda have it down to a science!  As soon as the IV is in and I sign all the consents they will start giving me anti anxiety meds in my IV!  After that, all is well!

It is just a diagnostic procedure so I will be able to come home later in the day!  I'm thrilled that this will not include a hospital stay!  I was hoping that all my friends will write me notes tomorrow so that when I am awake and alert enough I can read them!  I know it's lame but it would make this easier having that to look forward to!

There are no words for how important buzznet is to me, and that is because of all you!  I won't be on the rest of today because I have to do this really fun prep!  I will spare you the details!

Lotsa Love, Lory

YES, I MIGHT BE A REDNECK

It is exactly 12 days, 18 hours, 20 minutes, and 7 seconds until the 51st running of the Daytona 500!!! Nothing makes me come alive like a rock concert or a race track! This month I have dedicated my page to racing! I will be featuring my race photos and memorabilia I have collected throughout the years!

Most of my things are in some way linked to Ken Schrader who is my FAVORITE driver of all time! He is currently the oldest driver competing in the Sprint Cup Series! He will be driving three races in the #9 car this season!  My favorite full time driver is Kevin Harvick driver of the Richard Childress #29 Penzoil Chevy! He is a past winner of the Daytona 500 and I have high hopes that he will repeat that success!  My favorite car will always be the M&M's car no matter what team or who the driver is!  Most of my M&M's things are the #36 when Ken was the driver!

I realize most people on buzznet aren't interested in racing, but it is part of what makes me, well, ME!  And, I am a part of buzznet! So before anyone asks...YES...I know that I might be a redneck!

Grandma Packy's 80th Birthday Card

For my gramma's birthday a few years back I made her a card!  The front was a rose that I painted in water color, and for the verse inside I wrote this poem:

A little girl is born one night.

Her parents are so proud.

They want the very world for her,

They boldy say outloud!

Of all the gifts they wish for her,

There's none that quite comes close

To the tender precious beauty

That accompanies the Rose!

Her name was Rosemary!  She was the only girl and youngest of 8 children!  I just found the poem while cleaning and decided to share it!

HOT TOPIC DOESN'T MAKE REFERRALS

This weekend we made our long awaited road trip to the nearest Hot Topic so I could exchange my new Tokio Hotels t-shirts for the correct sizes! (my mother-in-love didn't realize that they came in mens sizes)  It was a perfect day! We actually had good weather both ways and not a single argument amoung the teens!! I got my new shirts and I absolutely LOVE them, but I will write about them tomorrow or sometime soon!

I have been trying to get up the nerve to get my nose pierced! Two of my dear Buzznet friends have recently gotten piercings done and lived through it just fine!! ^_^  Helen099 got her lip pierced last year, and Breakawaypunk just got snakebites and they look AMAZING!!!  This helped me get my own nerve up to finally do it! As we were about to leave Hot Topic I decided to ask all the young pierced people there where I should go! They all gathered up in a group and very politely told me that they are not allowed to make recommendations!

I was a little surprised but was quickly thinking that actually made sense because what if they recommended someone and it didn't go well? In our country that would probably open them up to a lawsuit! As I was having this thought and walking away, one young girl tapped me on the arm and said, "I can tell you about two places"! Kool, right?! She then told me the names of two places, and that she did NOT get hers done!!

Not being from the area, that didn't narrow things down for me as it was intended to do! But, I greatly appreciate that young girl's attempt to prevent me from a bad experience! I'm sure she thought I was asking on behalf of my teenage daughter who accompanied me! Either way, I appreciate her NOT making a referral!

Guess what???!!!!!

Craig couldn't sleep last night, so he was thinking about the satellite receiver and the things the tech support had him do!  Also how the guy just gave up and said he would have to send a repairman on January 11!  He was putting it all together in his mind and got an idea!  Well his idea worked...Craig fixed the satellite!!!  I have my channels back, saved a $50 repair, and I couldn't  be happier!!  He is MY HERO!!!!  Well he already was my hero, but now he is even more my HERO!!

THANK YOU CRAIG!!!  I LOVE YOU!!!

I HAD A BAD DAY!

Isn't that the name of a song? Coming off a magical Christmas I was caught a little off guard by what a rough day I had yesterday! I was gonna write last night, but it would have been a book! I thought I should sleep on it first! Well I did and I'm fine, but as promised here is what happened...

When we woke up it was to find the rain storm we had been getting had ended and turned to ice. Plus it was again snowing and blowing! Our power flashed on and off just as I was turning on my tv and all that goes with it! As a result my satellite receiver would no longer recognize my local channels! It didn't seem like such a big deal that was gonna lead to such turmoil!

Craig tried everything from making sure there was no ice on the actual dish to resetting it several times! When all his efforts failed he spent 2 hours on the phone with tech support who also tried everything to reset it and turn it back on! The end result...NO LUCK!!! I have NO local channels until January 11 the earliest they can send someone to fix it for $50 of course! I was really upset because my computer and my tv are my life lines! Due to my disability I don't move around a lot and they keep me sane! (as much as possible!) Craig was upset too, so he was far from understanding of my predicament! That lasted all day!

Then my mom who had already had to cancel twice due to weather, had to cancel AGAIN her plans to come to our house and exchange gifts and celebrate the holiday! THAT WAS THE WORST!!! I was really looking forward to spending some time with her! The ice that was causing all the havok was very pretty as it weighted down the tree branches on my big pines out front! I decided to go out and take some pics, only to discover that my memory card on my camera was full! I did have room on the actual camera to get a few, but they didn't really show the ice!

I went in to back up the pictures on my computer so I could be comfortable deleting them off the camera! I have a flash drive that holds all my photos, well it did! I couldn't get it to work so I had to ask Craig to help! After all that time on the phone with the satellite he was in no mood to deal with a disagreeable flash drive! Result...the photos are not backed up!

After we decided to give up on that, I proceeded to learn to use my new video camera and install the software that goes with it! Again a disaster ensued!! The software didn't do what the manual said it would do! It didn't help that my computer was being stupid!! Again I asked poor Craig to help me! He did his best, but it still doesn't work!!! I finally gave up on doing anything important!

There were several tv shows that I was looking forward to watching, only not on my tv! I told everyone else that I would like to watch them! Instead, everyone used the other tv to play a game and no one would give me a seat in the living room! I didn't say anything but that really made me feel bad! I went back into my room where I finally got to IM with my dear friend, and she just signed out! I was incredibly bummed about that!! I have since learned today that the IM had kicked her off, which it does do periodically!

However, during the time all this was happening 2 buzznet friends did something really incredibly sweet and kind! Their good deeds are private!! Thanks to them in spite of my bad day I did go to sleep with a smile on my face!!  I LOVE BUZZNET!!!!!!

Thank You To My Family and Friends

THANK YOU TO MY FAMILY

This Christmas was so unbelievable, there is no other word that describes it!! I have to thank Craig (my husband for anyone who doesn't already know), Trevor, Jordan, Kay (my 3 children), and Chris my mother-in-love (law has NOTHING to do with it)! They all showered me with the most amazing gifts! It was the best Christmas of my life and I've had some pretty incredible ones along the way! I also got a gift from gramma that she made before passing away in August (I posted a pic)! Since we draw names in my moms family, I also got a gift from my Uncle Lou! We still have my parents to celebrate with, which means even more gifts!

Each year I worry about whether or not there will be enough money for buying Christmas gifts, and each year are wants and needs are more than met! But, this one was truly amazing!!! I won't list all the gifts we exchanged, but list a few of my own!

I got a flat screen tv from Chris as well as some Tokio Hotel tshirts and necklace! She also got me a Hello Kitty watch, some pjs, and some socks! Craig got me a new winter coat, hat and mittens, along with 1 Tokio Hotel tshirt, 5 M&M's watches, and a keychain that holds digital photos!! My children bought me a new pair of knee high boots, an ornament that displays digital photos, puzzle books, and a Kevin Harvick figure (fav race car driver)! My gramma gave me some ornaments, and my uncle gave me a wallet digital photo album! I got a total of 8 watches and 3 digital picture frames!!! ^__^ I couldn't ask for more ever!

Most of all I want to write a very specific and heart felt thank you to Chris!! She didn't only spoil me with the TV and such, she spoiled the entire family!!! I can't even talk about it without tears running down my cheeks!! We are so undeserving, but she doesn't seem to notice!! I keep thinking how much love she must have for us to give so much!! I'm not even her blood relative, but she cares that much?! I am literally overwhelmed as I write this!!!

Now I feel that I in some I must pay it forward, or pass it on, or whatever! I'm going to spend the next few days examining my life and deciding on ways that even a disabled person can give back! I am sure of it's possibilty! I am also going to feature a family member each day to say thank you to all of them for giving so much to me not just at Christmas but 24/7/365!!!

There is one more thank you I must write and that is to my buzznet family and friends! I have met people here who are 100% family for life! I have also made some of the best friends I could ever ask for, and have ever had! So THANK YOU for your gift of your friendship! I want you to know that it means everything to me!! You mean everything to me!!

Here is to a new year filled with as many blessings as this one! Thanks for reading!! Lory
