There are still a few diehard flowers here and there, and this thistle holds all of it's original beauty! I got to shoot a few of them yesterday! While Kay was at work, I was spending the day with my dad! However, he had to leave 2 hours early to go help Andy get his truck home from the repair shop! So, that left me with nowhere to be for 2 hours! So, I headed back up to Mackinaw City early! I went to Scrolls & More and told Kay that I was there early and I was going to walk around and see what I could photograph! Our government is shut down (so embarrasing) and that means the parks are closed! That means no tourists in the park! So, I took full advantage of that gift and headed straight for Fort Michilimackinac State Park! When you are local yocals, you know how and where to get in! (: I started by the Mackinaw Bridge and started walking east along Lake Huron taking photos along the way! I also shot the Old Mackinac Point Lighthouse! I have taken a few shots of it here and there, but I put some time into it this time! I couldn't get inside because it is only open a few times each year, plus the museums are all closed! So, this is all leading up to the fact that I will have several photo blogs to post in the next little while! I want to take you on a tour through the park!
After I had spent about an hour doing in the park, I headed back to the Crossings! There is NO one in the Crossings on a Wednesday evening in October! I got kicked out of THREE stores for taking photos! I have taken NUMEROUS photos in those stores all summer long! I guess I wasn't supposed to! They were just too busy to notice! I will be more candid with my camera next time! I won't stop taking photos I can promise you that! ( :
When I had enough of that, I decided to stroll up Central Ave where I found scarecrows dressed as workers from all the businesses in Mackinaw City! So, I took photos of those! I will do another blog to show you all of those! I didn't get to shoot the whole street because there were cars around some of them! I will try to go back and take more if the opportunity presents itself!
Today was shopping and errands day! We had to zoom through Cheboygan and hurry back to pick the big kids up from school! They didn't skate tonight so we had to be there right when school let out!
When we got back, Andy made us AMAZING Mediterranean food for dinner! Even James ate!!! I had never had Mediterranean before, and I am definitely a fan! For dessert we had Oreos and vanilla ice cream! I only ate a bit of ice cream since I am not eating processed sugars anymore! Gary made a HUGE mess all over the high chair and himself! I have a photo of that to show you too! He was so cute and so messy!
I am still coughing, but doing just fine! (((:
