Last night Kay and I got home from Mackinaw and we were settling in when I looked outside and everything looked yellow! I grabbed my camera and headed outside! I had no idea what was happening in the sky, but I wasn't going to miss it! I found that there was a very strange cloud cover that was yellowish orange, and it was making everything look yellow! I didn't get much of a shot of the yellow clouds, but I did get a decent photo of the sort of sunset! In the comments I will post another photo that shows the yellow/orange clouds! It just wasn't good enough to post!
Today was crazy! It is Thursday, so we were all off to Cheboygan! We got a bit of a late start because Andy had to 2 service calls to do first! I sat in the van with the little boys while he worked! To say it was HOT would not do justice to the oppression we experienced today! It was 98 degrees with about 96% humidity! That makes the heat index up around 115 degrees! When we got to Cheboygan, and I stepped out of the air conditioned van, my glasses steamed up on my face! That is how hot and sticky it was! It feels like you are stepping in front of a blow dryer, but it covers your entire body and not just your hair! The entire US is having a heatwave, so I know I am not suffering alone!
If the heat wasn't difficult enough to cope with, we had scattered thunderstorms! It would be sunny and scorching one minute, and be raining buckets the next! Plus, neither of the boys are very impressed with the thunder and lightning! When we left the grocery store it was storming so hard James was just sobbing! It was interesting getting back to the van! Let me just say that my brother is THE MAN!!! He is such a good person! As we stepped out of the store he hit the button to open the doors on his van! He took James who was wailing, and a full cart of groceries and headed to the back of the van to load the groceries which would get him very wet! My dad put his bags into my cart, and he pushed that cart to the back the van! I took Baby Gary and I ran covering him the best that I could and all I had to do was get us both into the open door on the van! So the guys got much wetter than Gary and I did ! I thought it was so nice of them to get soaked for me! They loaded my groceries! Plus when we got to my house (the sun was beating down again) they carried my groceries in for me! This is why I love them all so much!
While at the time it felt like an ordeal, it was really just another day in the life of me and my family! ( :
